April 29, 2002: Camp X-Ray was closed, and all detainees held there were transferred to Camp Delta. The first detainees had arrived at Camp X-Ray on January 11 of the same year, but the outdoor facility was only ever intended as a temporary holding area until more permanent structures could be put in place.
